As soon as you take a look at the page, you know that it belongs to an artist. The texture of the background and the art supplies can almost be felt when you see them. While some of the images are not perfect quality, they give a more artful feel to the site.
That is a nice design, its a good example of what’s possible with CSS and XHTML. Don’t suppose you know what CMS is being used? I would guess Wordpress, Movable Type or Expression Engine.

It’s expression engine.
Not sure I’ll use it again though. I was finding myself a bit limited by the free version.
